Privacy Notice
Last updated 21 August 2026 · Written to be read, not skimmed past.
The short version. EatMove stores what you log — food, training, weight and body measurements — so the app can work for you. It lives on servers in the UK, nobody else sees it unless you connect an AI app yourself, we don't sell it or show ads, and you can have it all deleted by asking.
Who we are
EatMove (eatmove.fit) is run by its developer in the United Kingdom. We are the "data controller" for the information below — the legal term for the party responsible for looking after it.
What we store about you
- Your account. When you sign in with Google we receive your name, email address and Google account ID. We don't get your password or anything else from Google.
- What you log. Meals and their calories and macros; workouts and activities; your weekly training plan; weight and body measurements; benchmark efforts; notes you add. Some of this counts as health data, which the law treats with extra care — that's why we ask for your clear consent before storing any of it.
- Your profile. Age, height, goals, activity level and targets — the things you enter so the app can set sensible numbers.
- Connected AI apps. If you connect an assistant (for example Claude), we store the permission you granted, which app it was, and a record of what it changed, so you can review and undo it.
- Basic server logs. Time, request path and IP address, kept briefly for fixing bugs and stopping abuse.
We don't run analytics trackers or advertising pixels. The only thing kept in your browser is your sign-in token and your theme choice.
Why we store it
To run EatMove for you. That's it. We don't use your data to train models, build profiles for advertisers, or for anything unrelated to showing you your own log.
Our legal basis for your health data is your consent, which you give when you tick the box at sign-in. You can withdraw it at any time by asking us to delete your account (see below) — everything stops and is removed.
Where it lives
On servers in London, United Kingdom (Amazon Web Services and Neon, our database provider). Backups stay in the same region.
Who can see it
- You.
- AI apps you connect yourself. They see only what you authorised, only for your account, and you can disconnect them in your profile at any time — which also invalidates their access.
- Google learns that you signed in to EatMove, as with any "Sign in with Google" button.
- Our hosting providers (Amazon, Neon) store the data on our behalf under their standard contracts. They don't use it.
We never sell your data and we don't share it with anyone else.
How long we keep it
Until you ask us to delete it. Server logs are kept for two weeks.
Your rights
You can ask us, at any time, to:
- see everything we hold about you;
- export it (a one-click export is being built; until then we'll send it to you);
- correct anything that's wrong — most things you can just edit in the app;
- delete your account and all of its data;
- withdraw consent for storing your health data (which means deleting it).
Email privacy@eatmove.fit and we'll act within 30 days, usually much faster. If you're not happy with how we've handled something, you can complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
Changes
If this notice changes in a way that matters, we'll say so in the app and update the date at the top.
